A new modern residence has been approved by Mosman Council that will nestle into raising landform alongside the harbour. The existing traditional house will be used as a base to create the modern, outward looking residence with commanding views to North, South and Middle Heads.
To the east, an existing basement and subfloor area have been transformed into a large, semi open undercroft to serve an outdoor lap pool. To the west, a single garage becomes a double with direct entry to the floor above.
The entry level has reorganised living spaces that are much larger and open out onto extended terraces and the harbour view. A guest room and bathroom also occupy this level.
A new upper level accommodates large bedrooms with ensuites that capture unhindered views out towards terraces and the harbour foreshores.
A modern house featuring raw, off-form concrete, large expansive glazing and metal trims and louvers will form a fitting foreground to the bold rock formations of the escarpment behind.
