Michael Grimshaw Sydney architectMichael is the managing director and nominated architect of Edifice Design (registration number 5192).

He graduated with a degree in architecture from UNSW 1988, became registered with the NSW Board of Architects in 1995 and registered as a Design Practitioner of Class 2 Buildings in 2021.

Michael worked in a number of architectural firms including Davenport Campbell & Partners and Collard Clarke and Jackson where he accumulated experience across many areas of architectural design and management.

Michael founded Sydney architectural firm Edifice Design in 1997. Now after more than 20 years as its director, Michael is the principal architect of all projects and is very much involved in every stage of every project that goes through the office and remains the primary contact for all clients.

Michael’s focus is on working with you closely to understand your needs and translate them over time into functional, sustainable and beautiful spaces that enhance your family life as well as your well-being.

Trong Le Sydney architect

Trong graduated from the University of Sydney, and has been with Edifice Design since June 2012. Trong’s experience includes 7 years at EB Mowbray & Associates, an architecture firm. He has worked on complex multi-unit buildings in the commercial, public and private sectors and has a depth of expertise in designing residential apartments, townhouses, duplexes and houses. 

Middle Harbour Mosman apartments, Coogee multi-unit development, Maroubra new generation boarding house, Bondi and Middle Harbour Mosman duplexes are examples of how Trong brings passion for low energy planning, simple direct construction and environmental sustainability to innovative design.

Nathalie Chung BArch (hons)

Nathalie Khoo Sydney architect

Nathalie graduated from UNSW with honours, and has been with the company on and off since May 2003. In addition to working in a number of smaller architectural firms, Nathalie’s experience includes several years with PTW Architects where she gained experience in larger health, leisure, residential and commercial projects. 

Her portfolio ranges in scale encompassing apartment buildings, townhouses, duplexes and new houses to alterations and additions to existing houses. Nathalie finds innovative solutions to complex client needs. Her work has a contemporary feel with a focus on practical liveable spaces, the environment and its infusion with the design. Nathalie has contributed to some of the firm’s iconic designs: Mascot Rina Apartments, Dover Heights Art Deco house, the Maroubra duplex and the award winning Little Bay duplex.

Lydia Yaputra BArch (hons)

Lydia Yaputra Sydney architect

Lydia graduated from UNSW with honours, and has been with Edifice on and off since 2007. Lydia’s previous architectural experience includes working at Simon Chan and Associates and later, Marston Architects. 

Lydia has expertise in townhouses, new homes, semi-detached houses and alterations and additions. As well as being an accomplished designer of exteriors, Lydia has passion and flair for interior design. Examples of how her work brings life to a client brief are the South Coogee major home transformation parent retreat, Chifley rear extension and the Beaconsfield terrace addition.

Jane GrimshawJane has a Masters of Art/drawing and a Bachelor of Business/marketing. She is a marketing professional experienced in the strategic management of business knowledge in order to support an organisation’s growth. Jane has worked at City of Sydney, UTS, State Library, Mercer, PwC & EY.
