History

Edifice Design was established in 1997 by Michael Grimshaw to service a growing residential market for architects in the inner city suburbs (north, south, east and west) of Sydney. Building upon now over 25 years of experience in a range of building types, Michael was able to quickly expand the business into commercial and retail projects. In July 1999, Edifice Design became a registered company in New South Wales.

The company works with a small, dedicated staff of architects and regular teams of engineers, surveyors, town planners, landscape architects and other consultants on a variety of different projects. Whilst benefiting from such arrangements the company is still able to maintain the level of enthusiasm and personalised service clients expect from a small firm.

Objectives

Edifice Design is committed to innovative design with a professional, personalised approach. Creative responses to problem solving are equally important to producing practical and sustainable buildings on time and to a budget. To establish a clear brief the company also places great importance on listening to and communicating with the client. With enthusiasm, honesty and a sense of enjoyment, Edifice Design believes these objectives will produce the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Services

Edifice Design is able to offer the full range of architectural services including conceptual design, feasibility studies, council approvals, building documentation, tender and contract administrations and post building services. These services can be offered across a range of different building types such as alterations and additions, new homes, dual occupances, townhouses and others.

The team

Edifice Design currently works with experienced architectural graduates. Michael Grimshaw, its director, is a registered Sydney architect in New South Wales.
