00 Pre Design
00.0 Pre engagement – our first visit
We visit you, with your family or business, preferably at the site of your project. We will listen to your brief, discuss budgets, determine the extent of architectural services you need and how these may apply to your site.
You may only require concept drawings or for us to manage the whole design, approval and construction processes. We will talk with you, answer your questions and make suggestions. When we leave, we hope to have all the information we need and you feel is important, to prepare an individualised architectural fee proposal.
In preparation for our first visit, you will only need to know the main objectives of your project and if known, a brief description of how you feel it might be achieved. Some sketches or photos may also be useful. However, we will guide you through the preparation of a more detailed brief if we are selected as your architect.
The first visit is also an opportunity for us to meet, gauge how well we connect and accordingly, how successful the communication will be over time. We place a high value on our relationships with our clients and want us both to feel confident that there will not only be a successful outcome but an enjoyable experience along the way.
00.1 The Fee Proposal
The proposal should arrive within a week of our visit, together with the Architects Code of Professional Conduct which, as registered architects in NSW, we’re required to provide. If you have any questions or would like any aspect of the proposal explained, we will only be too pleased to discuss further.
It will be broken down into the stages similar to those shown in our fee proposal template, providing a brief description of each stage, the method of charging, when fees will be due and when variations MAY arise.
We will provide a brief summary of the proposed works and include or exclude the services you require. However, we are always happy to amend these services to reflect any feedback we receive.
